The ESR Auction Watcher application is designed to enable you to search for and watch eBay auctions. Advanced features are included to make the ESR an invaluable tool to aid you to keep track of your auctions. The applications features are broken down into two main sections; Searching and Watching. Two additional features supplement the searching and watching; Alerter and Scheduler.
Two types of search are supported; quick and advanced.
Quick search lets you perform a search with the minimal number of parameters. In order to perform a quick search, you will only need to enter a search term, select the eBay web site you wish to search (you can set your default eBay web site in the settings section) and optionally select the eBay category you wish to filter by.
Advanced Search offers many more options to enable you to filter the search results returned. The available search options in the Advanced Search section are: Search Term (with an optional advanced search term builder), eBay Web Site, eBay category, price range, Pay Pal acceptance, search in description option, country of origin, eBay store name, excluded auctions, excluded sellers and included sellers.
In addition to the search filtering options, Advance Search also offers a repeat scheduler and alert message options. The repeat scheduler enables you to automate the run time of your search. The alert message options allow you to specify if you would like to receive alert messages when the Advance Search runs.
The ESR Auction Watcher provides a unique method of monitoring eBay auctions. Auctions can be arranged into watch groups. You can create as many watch groups as you wish and arrange your auctions to your requirements.
Several methods of importing auction details into watch groups exist; Entry by auction Id number, import by seller name, import from search results (both quick and advanced search) and import from web page via the integrated internal web browser. An example of a web page you may wish to import auctions from is your “My eBay” watched auctions web page.
Alert messages are triggered by watches and advanced searches. The actions that can trigger an alert message are; Search Completed, Search Completed (with matching results), Watched Auction detail changed.
Alert messages can be either displayed on your computers desktop or emailed to any email address you specify. Desktop alert messages are displayed via the alert message ticker or in message balloons that pop up from the task bar with an audible bleep. Email alerts are sent (by the ESR Auction Watchers built in email notification service) to a list of email addresses you have previously supplied.
Both the search and watch features have the ability to specify a scheduled update. The Advanced search allows you to set a scheduled repeat duration for each advanced search you create. The watch feature gives you the option of how often eBay auction details are refreshed.
